The Mayor has a vision that Auckland is to become
the World's most liveable City.
We believe Auckland is missing a vital element for any truly
International City - a 25,000 seat covered stadium. Our draft
design proposal offers an exciting and achievable opportunity for
Auckland to solve this challenge. In a perfect world Auckland would
be a blank canvas however it is not. For the next few decades,
whilst developing transport infrastructure remains the key focus
for Auckland, the question will be: what can Auckland afford with
the stadiums that exist? A new medium size stadium on the
waterfront would be too costly even if the land was readily
available. But at North Harbour Stadium the potential exists for
Auckland to have a covered 25,000 seat stadium for 20 - 30% of the
cost of any other option.

North Harbour Stadium and Harbour Function Centre is currently
undergoing a full refurbishment of Level One. We will have new
curtains, new paint and new carpet as of April 1st 2012. This new
look will give the stadium a fresh, corporate feel making the
Stadium an ideal venue for your next function or event.
We will post some great photos of the upgrade, once it is
completed so keep an eye out.
